Common Objections
I am not sure you will be the right fit.
My practice emphasizes a personalized strategy, adapting various therapeutic methods to best suit your individual needs. I welcome ongoing feedback to ensure our sessions are meeting your expectations, and I’m committed to adjusting our approach as needed. Let’s explore together how we can make your therapeutic journey successful.
The price is too much.
Taking care of your mental health through therapy is like investing in yourself, similar to how you might save money for a secure future. Just as having savings makes you feel safe, improving your mental and emotional health sets you up for a happier and more satisfying life. Can you really put a price tag on peace of mind?
I don’t think a male therapst can relate to me.
I’m a man, but I want you to know that being emotionally connected is a big part of how I do therapy. I work hard to be understanding and responsive. My main goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable sharing your feelings. I’m here to listen and help, recognizing and valuing all of your experiences.
I’ll just fix my problems on my own.
It’s natural to want to handle problems by yourself, but this can often be overwhelming and time-consuming. My therapy offers guidance and strategies that can save you significant time and effort, helping you navigate challenges more effectively. Let’s work together to make your journey smoother and more efficient.
I won’t like therapy.
If you find that it’s not meeting your expectations, we can discuss adjustments to better suit your needs. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and supported, and we can always revisit your therapy plan or I can help find you another therapist that will be more suitable for you.
I am afraid of uncovering something scary.
Remember, the purpose of therapy is not just to uncover but also to understand and heal in a safe and supportive environment. I’m here to guide you through any challenging discoveries at a pace that feels comfortable for you, ensuring you’re supported every step of the way.
My story is too shameful.
Please know that as a therapist, I’ve been entrusted with many personal experiences and there’s nothing you can say that will shock or surprise me. My role is to listen and support you, not to pass judgment. Opening up at your own pace is crucial for healing, and I’m committed to providing a safe, confidential environment where you can feel secure to share and start your journey towards recovery.
People will think I am weak for going to therapy.
Recognizing when you need support and taking steps to get it actually shows strength, not weakness. Therapy is a proactive way to take care of your mental health and demonstrates courage and responsibility towards your well-being. Remember, what truly matters is how you feel about your decision to seek help. Also, you are in control of knows about your therapy.
