How much do you charge?
Individual sessions: $150 per 50 minutes, $200 per 90 minutes.
Couples sessions: $225 per 90 minutes. I believe that 90-minute sessions are necessary for couples to fully explore their stories and work effectively on their relationship. If cost is a barrier, please reach out. I offer a sliding scale to ensure everyone can benefit from the support they need.
Do you see clients virtually or just in-person?
I offer both virtual and in-person sessions. Virtual sessions are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to ensure confidentiality and security. In-person sessions are held at 3 The Pines Ct., St. Louis, MO 63141.
What is an LPC?
An LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. This designation means I have completed educational requirements, passed licensing exams, and fulfilled supervised clinical hours. As an LPC, I am fully licensed to practice independently, ensuring a high standard of care.
Do you take insurance?
I strive to make therapy accessible. For individual therapy, I accept Cigna, Aetna, Optum, and Carelon. Sadly, insurance companies don’t acknowledge couples therapy as a treatment option, which is why I can’t accept for couples work. However, if your insurance accepts out-of-network (OON) coverage, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider.
Does insurance cover therapy sessions?
Many insurance plans cover mental health services, including therapy. Check with your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage.
What is a Superbill?
A Superbill is a detailed invoice that includes provider and patient information, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and the cost of services. Patients can submit it to their insurance company for potential reimbursement.
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, often called “talk therapy,” involves discussing emotional and mental health issues with a trained therapist to gain insights, understanding, and coping strategies.
How long does a typical therapy session last?
A standard session usually lasts about 50 minutes to an hour, but this can vary based on the type of therapy and client needs.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Generally, everything discussed in therapy is confidential. Exceptions include risk of harm to oneself or others, or suspicion of abuse.
How often should I attend therapy?
My aim is to get you graduated from therapy ASAP. The research comments on weekly frequency being the most impactful, which is what I will usually recommend.
How do I know if I need therapy?
For starters, maybe there is a reason you’re reading this. People seek therapy for coping with major life challenges to exploring personal growth. If you’re experiencing distressing emotions or persistent challenges, therapy might be beneficial.
What's the difference between a psychologist, psychiatrist, and therapist?
Psychologists hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. and offer therapy. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in mental health and can prescribe medication. Therapists include social workers or licensed counselors who provide counseling services.
Can I switch therapists if I don't feel a connection?
Yes, it’s crucial to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable. If you don’t feel a connection, it’s okay to seek another therapist.
How can I prepare for my first session?

What if I can't afford therapy?
Many therapists offer sliding scale fees based on income. Additionally, community health centers and clinics often provide affordable mental health services.

I primarily use the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, focusing on the 8 Cs: Curiosity, Calm, Compassion, Clarity, Creativity, Courage, Confidence, and Connectedness. I also incorporate other evidence-based practices as needed to tailor the therapy to your unique needs.
