This website, luminous-therapy.com, belongs to Luminous Therapy, the private counseling practice of Raber Hamad, MA, NCC, LPC, at 3 The Pines Ct, Suite B, St. Louis, MO 63141. This page explains what information the website collects, what I do with it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language on purpose.

The short version

Information you give me

Contact form. If you use the form at the bottom of any page, you give me your name, your email address, and your message. The form sends that to me by email at raber@luminous-therapy.com so I can reply. It is not stored in the website’s database. I keep messages only as long as I need them to respond, and you can ask me to delete yours at any time.

Please keep a first message general. The contact form and ordinary email are not encrypted, so it is best not to include details about your health, your relationship, or anyone else. A sentence like “I would like to ask about couples therapy” is plenty. We can talk about the rest once we are connected.

Comments. If commenting is open on a blog post and you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name and email you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address, which helps filter spam.

Information collected automatically

Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they find the site. It uses cookies and collects things like the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and the site that referred you. It does not tell me who you are, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. Google’s own policy describes how it handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Server and security logs. Like almost every website, this one is hosted by a company (Hostinger) whose servers keep standard logs, and it runs security software (Wordfence) that records IP addresses and request details to block attacks. These logs are used only to keep the site running and safe.

Cookies. The site uses a small number of cookies: analytics cookies from Google, and functional cookies that help the site load quickly and stay secure. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

Booking and the client portal

The “Begin Now” buttons take you to my client portal, which runs on SimplePractice at luminous-therapy.clientsecure.me. That is a separate, HIPAA-compliant system with its own privacy policy. Everything you share there, including intake forms, scheduling, and payment, is covered by the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive when you become a client, not by this page. Nothing you enter in the portal is stored on this website.

Links to other sites

The site links to places like Psychology Today, the Gottman Referral Network, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Maps. Once you leave luminous-therapy.com, their privacy policies apply, not mine.

Who can see your information

Contact form messages come to me directly. The companies that make the site work, meaning my web host, the analytics provider, the security service, and the client portal, process data on my behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. I would share information only if the law required it.

Your choices

Children

This site and my practice are for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.

Changes to this page

If I change how the site handles information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
